Jonas Masalin was playing absolutely fantastic at the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour 2 and ended up winning his first ever title on the tour.
Even though Teemu Harju got himself down to 28 left, Jonas Masalin secured his first ever Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour title with an amazing 126 checkout on bull in the 11th and deciding leg of the final.
Masalin got off with a 6-5 win against Anton Östlund in the round of 128, before winning 6-2 against Janis Pinka in the next round.
In the round of 32 Darius Labanauskas awaited. However Jonas Masalin showed once more why he is to be considered a dangerous player this season as he excelled with both an 11 darter and a 12 darter in the victory of 6-3 against the former Tour Card holder from Lithuania.
Afterwards Masalin won back-to-back 6-0 against Peter Jensen and Kent Jøran Sivertsen. In the match against Sivertsen, Jonas Masalin even managed to average incredible 100.20, which was the highest average of the day.
Turkka Nieminen then got sent out of the tournament in the semi-final with a loss of 6-3 against Masalin. And even though Masalin seemed to be struggling to secure the title, as Teemu Harju got up by 3-1 in the final, Jonas Masalin once again lifted his level and secured himself the title.
By 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0 Teemu Harju however has gotten himself quickly into the quarter-finals.
In the quarter-final the resistance was a bit harder, but even so Teemu Harju still managed to win 6-4 against Latvian Valters Melderis.
The winner from Saturday, Oskar Lukasiak, was the opposition in the semi-final, but once again Teemu Harju wasted no time and won the match by 6-2 and secured himself his spot in the final.
The Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour continues in March, when the Tour visits Gothenburg in Sweden.
