Oskar Lukasiak secured his first ever Challenge Tour title earlier this year and now he wants a Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour title.
Oskar Lukasiak went to Q-School earlier this year, but did not win a Tour Card such as Benjamin Drue Reus and Jeffrey de Graaf did.
However he used the opportuinity to go try the Challenge Tour earlier this year, and with great success, as he won event number three.
“It was great, especially with the number of players and the standard over there with players that have a totally different experience than I do. It feels good to be able to play well in that atmosphere,” Oskar Lukasiak tells pdc-nordic.tv.
With the title, and his other results in the four other events, Oskar Lukasiak finds himself as number five on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit, and it has made the Swede even more ambitous for the season on the Challenge Tour.
“My goal before 2024 was to play Q-School and then Challenge Tour to see how I can perform. Now the goal is to end up in the top 8 on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit at the end of the year. Then I could play some more Players Championships and also UK Open next season.”
As Oskar Lukasiak mentions, the fifth place on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit made it possible for him to participate at the first two Players Championship events this year, as he was substituted in to the tournaments.
In event number two he even managed to win against number one seed Dave Chisnall in the first round, before he lost against Cameron Menzies in the third round.
“It felt incredible to be there with the “big” guys and also with that draw I got. Hopefully I will get some more chances during the season.”
This weekend Oskar Lukasiak will be in a bit more recognizable surroundings, as the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour starts once again, this time in Latvia with two Pro Tour events and three European Qualifiers and the Swede is looking forward to it.
“The tour is gonna be fun. It feels like our region have taken the next step with everything we are doing.”
“My goal during the season is always to win when I’m playing. But to get a title on the Pro Tour would be a great start. And then qualify for some European Tours and also the World Cup of Darts.”
