Oskar Lukasiak secured himself a Tour Card at Q-School through the points table and now he can’t wait for a “Swedish” table on the Pro Tour.
Through recent years, Oskar Lukasiak has really made a name for himself on the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour, the Challenge Tour, a bit on the PDC Pro Tour and last but not least, as the one half of two succesfull World Cups for Sweden.
Last week he then added even more fairy dust to the adventure, as he secured himself a Tour Card for the next two years, when he ended up having seven points on the Q-School points table, which was enough to secure one of the 12 cards, that was given through the rankings.
“It feels unreal. I have wanted it for a long time and now it suddenly happened. I am really glad to have the card now,” Oskar Lukasiak tells pdc-nordic.tv.
It was not until the last day of the Final Stage, that the card was secured through the rankings, but Lukasiak felt quite optimistic already after the first game on the final day.
“After my first game on Sunday, I felt that this could be it, but I knew that I needed two more wins to be secure of it.”
“After I won the group and after Anton Östlund came to hug me and I got a lot of messages on the phone, I just felt happiness and tears.”
But as mentioned earlier, the PDC Pro Tour is not fully new for Oskar Lukasiak, who had his fair share of matches in multiple Players Championship events last season, as he got substituted in because of his position on the Challenge Tour rankings.
“I think it will be a small advantage for the first weeks, that I already know most of the players and know how it works.”
“And it will be a lot of ease with both Jeffrey de Graaf and Viktor Tingström there, and also with Kevin Doets who lives in Sweden. Now we can have a “Swedish” table.”
With the Tour Card in hand it is time for the hard work, competing against the biggest darting stars on the planet. But even so, Oskar Lukasiak still has his eyes on the prize.
“My ambitions will be to qualify for both the World Cup of Darts and the World Championships. How I manage to do so, time will tell. But I have big ambitions and I will do my best to get there.”
