Madars Razma was the best player from the PDC Nordic & Baltic this weekend at Players Championship.
Because of the World Grand Prix starting yesterday, the two Players Championship events this weekend were being held at Friday and Saturday, instead of the usual Saturday and Sunday,
The PDC Nordic & Baltic region was represented by Darius Labanauskas, Madars Razma and Marko Kantele.
At Friday none of the three got through to the second round even though all three of them averaged about 90.
Darius Labanauskas lost 6-5 against Adam Hunt, Madars Razma lost 6-2 against Stephen Burton and Marko Kantele lost 6-5 against Harry Ward.
The tournament was won by Gerwyn Price, who won 8-7 against Krzysztof Ratajski in the final.
Saturday was a much better day for Madars Razma, as he reached the third round. In the first round he won 6-2 against Ryan Joyce, averaging 94.8.
Joe Murnan was the next victim, as he lost 6-3 against the Latvian ‘Razmatazz’.
However, Jesus Noguera became too much of a mouthful, as the Spaniard won 6-4 in the third round. The result secured Madars Razma £1000 for the rankings.
Darius Labanauskas and Marko Kantele both lost in the first round, as Ryan Meikle and Tytus Kanik stopped their reach for the second round.
The final was won by Jose de Sousa, who won 8-6 against Glen Durrant.
With the £1000 for Madars Razma, the Latvian now has £10.000 on the Players Championship ranking. This secures him a place as number 72. Meaning he has the top 64 in sight.
The top 64 will qualify for the Players Championship Finals.
