The third round starts today and Darius Labanauskas will go up against Max Hopp.
The second round ended yesterday, and once again, Fallon Sherrock stole all the headlines, as she won 3-1 against the former Champions League winner Mensur Suljovic.
The former Lakeside finalist made the whole Ally Pally go crazy as she checked out 86 on the bull for the match.
We also saw Seigo Asada, Simon Whitlock, Ryan Searle, Adrian Lewis, Daryl Gurney, Glen Durrant and Dimitri van den Bergh make their way into the third round.
The highligst of yesterday, besides Sherrock’s impressive win, was when Adrian Lewis missed the double 12 for the first nine-darter of the tournament. Thus we have seen eight perfect darts two times now, as Nico Kurz did it earlier in the tournament.
Today the third round starts and therefore the two sessions will only contain three matches each, as the matches now will be played best of seven sets instead of five sets.
The first match of the day is between Jonny Clayton and Stephen Bunting. After this Darius Labanauskas will once again take the stage, as he will go up against Max Hopp.
The young German had som trouble beating Benito van de Pas in the second round, but eventually won 3-2.
The afternoon ends with Nathan Aspinall, who will go up against Krzysztof Ratajski.
In the evening we starts off with James Wade. He will take on Steve Beaton. The winner of this match will go up against the winner of match between Darius Labanauskas and Max Hopp in the fourth round.
Then Kim Huybrechts will face Danny Noppert, just before Michael van Gerwen takes on Ricky Evans in the last match of the evening.
All of the matches can be seen on pdc.tv from 13.30 and 20.00.
