Fallon Sherrock will be on stage again tonight. This time she will face Mensur Suljovic.
Yesterday’s matches ended with victories for all the bookmakers’ favorites, except for Nico Kurz, though the biggest favorite, Peter Wright, had to fight for it.
Noel Malicdem ended up pushing him so much that the match would end in the 11th and decisive leg of the fifth set. Here Peter Wright won the right to throw first as he placed the dart in the bullseye. Then he started the set with a 180, and then the course was otherwise laid and shortly afterwards the Scotsman could take the victory.
The others who also made it to the third round yesterday were Darren Webster, Mervyn King, Jonny Clayton, Ricky Evans, Nathan Aspinall, Nico Kurz and Max Hopp, meaning we now know, that Max Hopp will be the opponent of Darius Labanauskas tomorrow.
Today, it faces eight more games from the second round, with Fallon Sherrock among the 16 players to battle. She will go up against Mensur Suljovic, who undoubtly will be a big challenge.
The day starts with a match between Keegan Brown and Seigo Asada, before Simon Whitlock will go up against Harry Ward.
Steve West and Adrian Lewis will also feature in the afternoon, as they will face Ryan Searle and Cristo Reyes respectively.
In the evening Daryl Gurney will face Justin Pipe, just before Glen Durrant will take on Damon Heta. Then we will have the match between Mensur and Fallon, and then the evening will end with a match between Dimitri van den Bergh and Josh Payne.
