Daniel Larsson reached a final in Finland in May, but at the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour 9 he got his first title of the season.
Daniel Larsson has not won a Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour title since 2023, when he won one of the events in Sweden that year.
However at Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour 9 in Denmark he secured his first title in two years, as he won an intense final against fellow Swede Edwin Torbjörnsson by 6-5 this afternoon.
Daniel Larsson got off to a good start, as he won his first match 6-0 against Anna Forsmark and his second match by 6-1 against Bent Lambertsen.
In the round of 16 he was drawn up against PDC Tour Card holder Oskar Lukasiak, and the match should be a dramatic duel between the two Swedes. Oskar Lukasiak got up by 4-2, but with three won legs in a row, Daniel Larsson suddenly got himself up by 5-4, before Lukasiak equalized the score. Daniel Larsson then produced an impressive 14 darter in the deciding leg and won the match by 6-5.
In the quarter-final Larsson had to go up against yet another PDC Tour Card holder, as he had to face Viktor Tingström. However Larsson showed exactly why he is one of the most decorated players on the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour, as he won 6-2 against Tingström, producing an 11 darter and two 13 darters in the match.
In the semi-final he won 6-3 against Marko Kantele, before going up against Edwin Torbjörnsson in the final.
The final was played at an impressive level from both players, which meant none of the two managed to make a single break in the first ten legs, getting the score to 5-5, with a 12 darter and 13 darter for Daniel Larsson along the way, and a 13 darter for Edwin Torbjörnsson.
Torbjörnsson had the throw in the deciding leg, however Torbjörnsson only managed to score 59 and 44 in his first two visits at the oche, meanwhile Daniel Larsson scored 100 and 177 at his first two visits.
And even though Torbjörnsson managed to get himself down to 40 after Daniel Larsson had missed two match darts at tops, Daniel Larsson secured himself the victory and the title with two darts on double 10.
The route to the final for Edwin Torbjörnsson started against Dane Lars Aagard Nielsen and the Swede won the match by 6-0.
His next two matches were won by 6-2 and 6-0 once again, before going up against Lithuanian star Darius Labanauskas in the quarter-final.
And enen though the Swede got ahead by 4-1, the match ended up being decided in a 11th and deciding leg, which Torbjörnsson won in 17 darts.
In the semi-final Edwin Torbjörnsson won 6-2 against Andreas Harrysson.
Yesterday Johan Engström secured himself yet another European adventure, as he won the qualification for the Flanders Darts Trophy.
Tonight yet another European qualifier will get underway, when we will find the Nordic and Baltic qualifier for the Czech Darts Open.
Tomorrow the weekend will end with the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour 10.
