This weekend the annual World Youth Championship were being held and our region were represented by Viktor Tingström and Anton Östlund.

Victories against players such as Adam Gawlas and Ciaran Teehan is not something you do every day as a young player in the darting world. However this happened this weekend for Viktor Tingström and Anton Östlund, as they both did more than just participating at the World Youth Championship in Milton Keynes this weekend.

Viktor Tingström were drawn up against Adam Gawlas and Keelan Kay in the group stage and managed to beat both of the players with averages above 87.
Anton Östlund had to face Brayden Hall and Ciaran Teehan in the group stage and just as his fellow countryman, he managed to win both matches with averages above 80.

In the following round of 32, Anton Östlund were drawn against Bradley Brooks and unfortunately the Swede could not keep his level from the group stage and lost the match by 6-3, averaging a little under 79.

Viktor Tingström however managed to win his first match in the cup system, as he averaged incredible 99,18 against Adam Paxton and won by 6-3.

However the journey came to and end against Jitse Van der Wal in the round of 16, as the Dutchman won 6-3 against Tingström.

The tournament ended up with Luke Littler and Gian van Veen securing the two spots in the final. The final will be played at November 26 in Minehead, as part of the Players Championship Finals.

Quarter-final for Tingström

Other than the World Youth Championship, the two young men from Sweden also participated at four Development Tours and even with great success.

At three of the events, both players managed to reach at least third round. It was only at Development Tour 22 Anton Östlund only made it to the second round, as the two of them were drawn against each other, which ended with a 4-2 victory for Tingström.

Viktor Tingström also got the best result for the two of them, as he managed to reach the quarter-finals at Development Tour 24.
