Chairman Michael Frydendahl looks back at 2025 and into 2026 in an open letter to everyone.
As we close in on New Years, our chairman Michael Frydendahl has written an open letter to everyone who has some sort of connection to the PDC Nordic & Baltic, no matter if you are a player, an official or a follower of the Nordic and Baltic Tour.
“2025 was the year in which we had the most players represented with Tour Cards in the PDC with no less than six players. At the same time seven players from our region qualified for the 2026 World Darts Championship, which is the highest number ever.
From having eight tournaments in four countries, we are now up to 12 tournaments in six countries, in addition to our European Tour Qualifiers, which from 2026 will consist of 15. Plus our new PDC Nordic & Baltic Championship which started here in 2025 and provides an extra spot at the World Darts Championship.
We also have participation in the tournaments Winmau World Masters, World Cup of Darts and tournament on the European Tour.
It must be said that this is quite a nice development, which we in PCD Nordic & Baltic are very proud of and all the players in particular can also be very proud.
As most have probably seen, the PDC has increased its support for all the Affiliate Tours in the PDC and this also applies to us in the PDC Nordic & Baltic. It is a support that we are both very grateful for and also proud of, because it shows that we are also worth investing in and we are developing in the right direction.
Therefore, we also hope that we once again can will see a lot of players from all over our region participating at Q-School 2026 so we can get even more Tour Cards for the PDC Nordic & Baltic. We also hope to get a record participation in our tournaments across the Nordic and Baltic countries in 2026.
Finally, a big thank you to all the players who have participated in the past year, without you no development and no tournaments. Huge congratulations to everyone who achieved success and qualified for both the European Tour, World Masters, the World Cup, PDC Nordic & Baltic Championship and the World Darts Championship – well done everyone.
A huge thank you to all officials from the organizing countries – Johnny Petersen from Norway, Ingibjörg from Iceland, Heli Kantele from Finland who in addition to being Finland’s representative also attends all tournaments as official, Zanis Buklovskis from Latvia who in addition to being Latvia’s representative also are our Tournament Director and with authority and overview ensures that all tournaments are run smoothly and beautifully.
Mads Magnussen who is in charge of our social media and website, he has done a fantastic job and has helped to update all news during all our tournaments and continuously updated the website throughout the year. And finally, but not least Dean Moss from Sweden who in addition to being the Swedish representative also put in a huge amount of work in the daily work with hotel agreements, tournament planning and much more – an invaluable help in the daily work.
And of course a big thanks to Alex Moss and Henry Deacon, who have been commentating on our tournaments throughout the year on Youtube, and also were a invaluable help at our first ever PDC Nordic & Baltic Championship in Copenhagen.
A huge thanks to the PDC who makes all this possible for us, a big thank you to Dartconnect, to our Board sponsor Winmau and to Best Western Hotels for great agreements throughout the year and the coming years.
All the best and with wishes of a fantastic New Years Eve to everyone
Sincerely
Michael Frydendahl, chairman of the PDC Nordic & Baltic”
