Teemu Harju will be defending his title at the PDC Nordic & Baltic Championship, but he does not feel too much of a pressure.
Teemu Harju won the inaugural PDC Nordic & Baltic Championship last year after a fantastic 8-2 victory in the final against Edwin Torbjörnsson in Copenhagen.
This year he will be defending his title, when he goes to Odense for the 2026 PDC Nordic & Baltic Championship, however he does not feel too much of a pressure on him.
“I wouldn’t say I feel pressure to defend my tittle, but of course I want to win the tournament again this year,” Teemu Harju tells pdc-nordic.tv.
When Teemu Harju is talking about his title from last year, he remembers a lot of good and close matches and even though he has not won any titles on the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour this year, he still thinks he has what it takes going into the tournament.
“It doesn’t really matter that I haven’t won any titles this year. The start of the season was quite challenging, but the last couple of tournaments have gone better, so I’m feeling pretty confident right now. I guess there can’t be any other goal than winning the trophy, but I’m not putting any extra pressure on myself because of it.”
In Group H Teemu Harju will be going up against Petri Rasmus and Andreas U. Nielsen, and he knows it will be tough to progress from the group.
“It’s a tough group and whoever makes it through, will have to play really well.”
Teemu Harju will be playing his first game of the tournament Friday evening, at which he will be facing Andreas U. Nielsen.
