Scotland won the World Cup of Darts tonight. Peter Wright threw the decisive dart.
Scotland is the new World Champions in pairs. Tonight they beat Ireland in the final by 3-1. This also means, that the only third nation has won the World Cup of Darts. Before tonight, the tournament had only been won by England and the Netherlands.
Two nations which Ireland did beat throughout this tournament.
The final started with Gary Anderson against Steve Lennon. Steve Lennon, who played some fantastic dart in the double against the Netherlands in the semi-final, won the match by 4-2.
The second match stood between William O’Connor and Peter Wright. Snakebite did equalize as he beat William O’Connor by 4-2.
In the double match Scotland won by impressive 4-0, and then Peter Wright could secure the title as he won 4-1 against Steve Lennon in the third single match and secured Scotland a 3-1 win.
