Krzysztof Ratajski wrote himself into the history books when he won the Gibraltar Darts Trophy on Sunday.
Never before has a polish player won on the PDC European Tour. Krzysztof Ratajski has changed that now, winning yesterday with an impressive 8-2 over Dave Chisnall in the final of the Gibraltar Darts Trophy.
The Pole started the day beating Joe Cullen by 6-3 in the third round. He then beat Ian White in the quarter-finals, however without an impressing level.
However, that changed dramatically in the semi-finals, with the Pole beating Daryl Gurney 7-3. Here, Ratajski averaged an impressive 109.51.
In the final, the average went down a bit, but it still ended up at 102.85, which must be said to be a pretty good average. Otherwise, Dave Chisnall made the best start in the final, as he quickly got ahead 2-0. After that, Dave Chisnall failed to take a single leg, and so Ratajski ended up winning 8-2, thus entering history as the first Pole to win on the European Tour.
