This weekend also featured the PDC Pro Tour, as Players Championship 5 and 6 were being held in Barnsley. And it came with mixed features for the two Baltic players.
Darius Labanauskas has had a difficult start to 2023 on the PDC Pro Tour. In his first four Players Championships he lost in the first round of every single one of them.
Things then started to look a bit better, as he beat Niels Zonneveld in the third round of the UK Open, before he then lost against Jose de Sousa in the fourth round.
But at Players Championship 5 he finally got that first round win on the Pro Tour, as he won 6-5 against Florian Hempel.
After this he were up against yet another German, as he faced Martin Schindler. And the match once again ended with a result that said 6-5. Unfortunately it was with Martin Schindler as the winner.
However Madars Razma had a very good day at Players Championship 5, as he reached the fourth round. He won his first three matches against William O’Connor, Ricky Evans and Shaun Wilkinson, before losing against Nathan Aspinall just before the quarter-finals.
At Players Championship 6 however, both players lost in the first round. Madars Razma lost 6-2 against Graham Usher and Darius Labanauskas also lost bu 6-2 against Owen Roelofs.
Players Championship 5 was won by the European Champion Ross Smith, and Players Championship 6 was won by Dirk van Duijvenbode.
