Marko Kantele is in great form at the moment. And by his great form, he won yet another Nordic and Baltic title this weekend and also qualified for yet another European Tour event.
Marko Kantele won his first Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour event already in the first weekend in Denmark, but now he can put two titles on his resume, as he won yet another Pro Tour this weekend.
At the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour 3, he beat names such as Bent Lambertsen, Anton Östlund and Andreas Harrysson on his way to the final. In the final he were up against fellow Finn Hannu Suominen, and even though the match started quite close, Marko Kantele quickly got up by 5-2. And even though Hannu Suominen won two legs in a row and got it to 5-4, Marko Kantele proved to strong and won the final by 6-4.
At Sunday in the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour 4 however, Marko Kantele lost in the quarter-final against Daniel Larsson bu 6-1. Daniel Larsson played with an average of 100,13 in this match.
And even though the Swede could not continue his great level from the quarter-final, he still managed to win the semi-final against Dennis Nilsson by 6-4. In the final he once again won by 6-1 against Benjamin Drue Reus.
With the titles for both Kantele and Larsson, the two of them are now top two in the rankings.
The weekend also had three qualification tournaments for the European Tour. The first one was won by Oskar Lukasiak at Friday, and just after that Dmitrijs Zukovs won the second.
At Saturday the third qualification went ahead, and that was won by Marko Kantele – who has now qualified for two European Tour events this year.
