Marko Kantele had a really good day at the Players Championship circuit as he reached the top 16.
Jonny Clayton won the 10th Players Championship of 2019 after beating Gabriel Clemens in the final by 8-4. The Welsh played with a good level throughout the entire day, meaning he had the 9th best average in the tournament.
Just as yesterday, the PDC Nordic & Baltic region were represented by Darius Labanauskas, Madars Razma and Marko Kantele.
Darius Labanauskas faced the same destiny as yesterday, as he already lost in the first round. Here he meet Dave Chisnall who won the match by 6-3.
Madars Razma though reached the second round, as he beat Martin Schindler by 6-5 in the first round averaging 99,1.
In the second round he faced Wayne Jones and lost by 6-5 even though he averaged impressing 101,5.
The best story of the day was undoubtedly Marko Kantele. He got all the way to the round of 16, in which he lost against the later winner Jonny Clayton. Clayton won that match by 6-2.
Before the defeat, Marko won against Darren Webster by 6-2, Alan Tabern by 6-4 and Mike van Duivenbode by 6-5.
The result for Marko Kantele also means, that he has secured the most ranking points through the Players Championship events by the three PDCNB-players so far. Thus Marko has secured himself £4000, Madars £3500 and Darius £3000.
