James Wade gave himself a good birthday present, as he won Players Championship 9.
Once again it is time for Players Championship this weekend. Today the Players Championship 9 was played, an it was won by James Wade.
The Englishman, who could celebrate his 36th birthday today, averaged 98,61 throughout the entire tournament. On his way to the final he did beat Adrian Lewis in the quarter-final and Scott Baker in the semi-final, before beating Michael Smith by 8-2 in the final.
The PDC Nordic & Baltic was also represented today, as Madars Razma, Marko Kantele and Darius Labanauskas all was among the 128 players.
Unfortunately it was a day without any success for the three of them.
Madars Razma was whitewashed 6-0 by Steve Beaton in the first round. The bronzed Adonis played the game with an incredible 106,1 average.
Marko Kantele also lost in the first round, as he had to face the later finalist Michael Smith. The former Youth World Champion won the match by 6-1 and averaged 103 against Marko Kantele’s 95,5.
Not even Darius Labanauskas managed to get through to the second round, even though he was way more close to it, than Madars Razma and Marko Kantele. The Lithuanian faced Joe Cullen in the first round and even though Darius was up by 1-0, 3-2, 4-3 and 5-4, Joe Cullen still managed to win the match by 6-5. Darius Labanauskas averaged 95,2.
