As the only one from the Nordic and Baltic area, Madars Razma managed to get himself through to the second round at the Viaplay Nordic Darts Masters.
In the first match of the evening Johan Engström put a good fight against Dimitri Van den Bergh, unfortunately Engström missed five darts at the double to win the 10th leg, meaning Dimitri Van den Bergh won the match by 6-4.
Then Ivan Springborg got whitewashed by the Premier League champion, as Jonny Clayton won that match by 6-0. However Ivan experienced an absolute mad crowd cheering him on, which seemed to delight him.
Madars Razma then pulled of a great perfomance against Nathan Aspinall, meaning he won 6-4 with an average of 95.83.
In the fourth match of the evening Daniel Larsson went up against Gerwyn Price. After getting at 2-2, the world champion pulled 5-2 ahead before Larsson once again managed to make a checkout. However Gerwyn Price won the match by 6-3 at last.
Then the Danish crowd once again got themselves a treat, as the two Danes, Andreas Toft Jørgensen and Niels Heinsøe were going up against former world champion Gary Anderson and Fallon Sherrock.
Andreas Toft Jørgensen managed to average 80.96 against Gary Anderson, however Anderson won the match by 6-3. And afterwards Fallon Sherrock won 6-1 against Niels Heinsøe.
6-1 was the same result in the match between Peter Wright and Marko Kantele, as the Scotsman went on to the second round.
In the last match of the evening, Darius Labanauskas almost managed to send Michael van Gerwen home to the Netherlands, but in the last leg decider, the former world number one showed why he is one of the best players on the planet and therefore won the match by 6-5.
