Iceland will be back in Frankfurt this year, as the country in the Atlantic Sea has been given a spot at the 2024 World Cup of Darts.
Last year we saw Hallgrimur Egilsson and Vitor Charrua represent Iceland at the World Cup of Darts in Frankfurt.
At first it was not given, that the Nordic country would be back in Eissporthalle due to the qualifying criterias for the Nordic and Baltic countries. However PDC has now chosen to give a spot to Iceland anyway, meaning they will be joining Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Lithuania and Latvia at the grand event.
Now we only need to know who will be representing the country this year.
With the current standings, the two spots will go to Vitor Charrua and Petur Gudmundsson, as they are the only two Icelanders who have participated in the demanded minimum of six PDC Nordic & Baltic tournaments in the last 12 months.
However Amgrimur Olafsson, Hallgrimur Egilsson and Arni Agust Danilsson are all three able to reach the minimun of six tournaments, if they will be going to the two Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour events in Finland later this month.
If they do so, the current standings for the Icelandic spots will be looking like this:
Amgrimur Olafsson 175 points
Vitor Charrua 50 points*
Halgrimur Egilsson 50 points
Arni Agust Danilsson 50 points
Petur Gudmundsson 0 points*
