Yet another European Tour event has been held, and once again we saw a player from our region with a victory.
Leverkusen was the place to be this weekend, as the European Darts Open was held. For the third time this season, Michael van Gerwen took home the title, as he beat Dimitri Van den Bergh by 8-5 in the final at Sunday.
However we also saw Swede Dennis Nilsson in action at Friday and Saturday, as he won in the first round against Martin Lukeman by 6-3. Nilsson quickly got up by 4-0, but Lukeman fought his way back into the game, as he got the score to 4-3, before Dennis Nilsson once again won a leg and then yet another to win the game.
At Saturday the opponent of Dennis Nilsson was Portuguese José de Sousa. Even though the “Special One” got up by 4-2, it was a pretty close match, as Dennis Nilsson got the score to be 4-4 and then 5-5, before José de Sousa won the last and deciding leg, as Dennis Nilsson had 120 left.
The Pro Tour continues tomorrow, as we will see two Players Champioonship events over the next couple of days. Darius Labanauskas, Madars Razma and Vladimir Andersen will all attend at the events.
