It is time for the quarter-finals at the World Darts Championship and Darius Labanauskas will go up against Michael van Gerwen.
Darius Labanauskas took another great win yesterday, as he beat Steve Beaton by 4-2 in the fourth round. Therefore he will play again today, as he will go up against Michael van Gerwen in the quarter-final. It will be the first meeting of the two in a darts match.
The match, however, is the first match in the evening, meaning we will see two other quarter-finals in the afternoon, before Darius Labanauskas takes the stage.
In the first quarter-final Nathan Aspinall will go up against Dimitri van den Bergh. Nathan Aspinall won against Gary Anderson in the fourth round, in which he played some good darts. Dimitri van den Bergh won 4-3 against Adrian Lewis yesterday, after a thriller of a match.
Then Luke Humphries will go up against Peter Wright. Luke Humphries has done well so far and can make life difficult for Peter Wright, who won 4-3 yesterday against Jeffrey de Zwaan. The match was quite exciting, as Peter Wright won the seventh set by 5-3 in legs.
The last match today, in the evening session, will be between Glen Durrant and Gerwyn Price. Glen Durrant did quite good, as he won 4-3 yesterday against Chris Dobey. In the seventh set he averaged 104.86 to win the set by 3-0.
Gerwyn Price won 4-2 against Simon Whitlock, but his level fell a bit compared to his match in the third round. He may have to lift it again tonight.
All the matches can be seen on pdc.tv from 13.30 and 20.00. The quarter-finals will be played best of nine sets.
