The first Players Championship event was being held today, and three PDCNB-players participated.
This year, there will be no less than 30 Players Championship events. Today the first of them was being held, and Darius Labanauskas, Madars Razma and Marko Kantele participated.
The best result of the day was Darius Labanauskas, who got through to the third round before losing against Scott Baker.
In the first round the Lithuanian secured himself a good result to put on his resume, as he won 6-3 against two time world youth champion Dimitri van den Bergh.
In the second round he demolished Ryan Joyce by 6-1, before losing with the same numbers against Scott Baker .
Marko Kantele reached the second round as he did beat Peter Hudson bu 6-1 in the first round, before losing 6-2 against Josh Payne.
Madars Razma lost 6-4 in the first round against John Henderson.
The event was won by world number one Michael van Gerwen. He beat Jermaine Wattimena by 8-4 in the final, with an average of impressing 109,5.
The Dutchman averaged 103,95 throughout the entire event.
Darius Labanauskas averaged 92,87, Marko Kantele 86,85 and Madars Razma averaged 87,68.
