Daniel Larsson showed fine form Friday evening, when he won the qualification for the Hungarian Darts Trophy.
Even though it was a tough opponent Daniel Larsson had to face in the final of the European Tour qualifier, as he was going up against Johan Engström, he got away from the match with a decent win at 6-3.
Throughout the entire tournament, the Swede averaged a good 91.78, and this could come in handy, if he can continue the level at Saturday, when the first of this weekends two Pro Tour events takes place.
However the field has increased from 29 to 64, and among those new players since yesterday, we of course find the three Tour Card holders Darius Labanauskas, Madars Razma and Vladimir Andersen. All to find in the top ten before the event at Saturday.
But besides the race for the top two in the rankings and thereby spots at the World Darts Championship 2023, this weekend will also determine who will go up against the big names at the World Series event Nordic Darts Masters next weekend in Copenhagen.
It is already known that Darius Labanauskas, Madars Razma and Vladimir Andersen will participate due to their Tour Cards.
And as no more events from the European Tour will take place before the Nordic Darts Masters, it is already decided, that Daniel Larsson will take the Swedish spot at the event.
However we still need to find two more Danes, an Icelander and a Finn for the last four spots. With the current rankings, the spots will be given to Benjamin Drue Reus (DEN), Brian Løkken (DEN), Matthias Fridriksson (ICE) and Marko Kantele (FIN), but things are still up for grabs, so lets put our hopes up for some good darts at Saturday and Sunday, and see who will be going for the biggest dart event in all of the Nordic and Baltic region.
As always, you can follow all the matches from 11:00 local time at Dartconnect.com and on our stream at Facebook or Youtube.
