The final event of the year on the European Tour will be decided today when the winner of the Gibraltar Darts Trophy is to be found.
The second day of the Gibraltar Darts Trophy went by without any big surprises. Yes, in fact, all the seeded players, except Jonny Clayton, who lost 6-3 to Kim Huybrecths, won.
This also means that the program for today looks very interesting.
Today’s first match is between Michael van Gerwen and Nathan Aspinall. Both players impressed in their respective victories yesterday as Michael van Gerwen averaged 103.51 in his 6-3 win over Jose de Sousa, and Nathan Aspinall averaged 108.14 in his 6-4 win over Ryan Joyce.
Then Peter Wright goes up against Mensur Suljovic. Peter Wright had no major problems beating Dyson Parody in yesterday’s game, nor did Suljovic against Wessel Nijman.
James Wade then goes up against Kim Huybrecths, then Dave Chisnall goes on stage to meet Jermaine Wattimena.
Ian White is up against his good tour mate Michael Smith before Krzysztof Ratajski takes the stage against Joe Cullen.
Daryl Gurney then goes up against Glen Durrant, who also impressed yesterday as he averaged an impressive 104.09 against Chris Dobey in the 6-4 victory.
The afternoon is to be shut down by Gerwyn Price, who won 6-0 yesterday, and Rob Cross. Rob Cross only averaged just over 87 yesterday, and will likely have to find a higher average in today’s game against ‘The Iceman’.
As always, the evening session will consist of quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.
