Darius Labanauskas reached the semi-final yesterday in the Players Championship 14.
Once again it was time for Players Championshup at Tuesday and Wednesday. As always the PDC Nordic & Baltic region was represented by Darius Labanauskas, Madars Razma and Marko Kantele.
Players Championship 13 at Tuesday was not the best day for the three players. Darius Labanauskas lost already in the first round by 6-4 against Ryan Meikle.
Madars Razma reached the second round and lost in a close match against Mark McGeeney. Mark McGeeney got in front by 5-2, before Madars Razma got himself up on 5-5. Unfortunately Mark McGeeney hit the double first, despite Madars Razma averaged 117,3.
Marko Kantele, just as Darius Labanauskas, lost in the first round, as he lost 6-5 against Christian Kist.
The tournament was won by William O’Connor. It was his first ever win in a PDC-tournament.
At Wednesday Jeffrey de Zwaan won Players Championship 14. In the final he beat Stephen Bunting by 8-2.
Stephen Bunting was the superior of Darius Labanauskas in the semi-final. Darius Labanauskas had never reached a semi-final in the Players Championship before, so this was the best ever result for the Lithuanian in the Players Championship. Before losing against Stephen Bunting in the semi-final, the Lithuanian did beat Mark Webster, Jermaine Wattimena, Toni Alcinas, Brendan Dolan and Harry Ward.
The result means Darius Labanauskas can add another £3000 to the Order of Merit.
Both Madars Razma and Marko Kantele lost in the first round, as they lost against Adam Hunt and Martin Schindler respectively.
