The season started this weekend in Latvia with two Pro Tours and three European Qualifiers, and the PDC Nordic & Baltic got a new record in the weekend.
A magnificent +100 players participated in the two Nordic and Baltic Pro Tours this weekend in Latvia, and combined with some excellent performances, they way was paved for a new 180’s record.
Before this season, the highest number of 180’s produced in one Pro Tour event was 132. At Pro Tour 1, the number got up to 176. At Pro Tour 2 the number was once again higher than 132, however not enough for yet another record, as the number ended up being 158.
Other than the new 180’s record, the two Pro Tour events were won by the top two players from last season, Jeffrey de Graaf and Marko Kantele.
The Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour 1 was won by Jeffrey de Graaf. After he defeated returned Darius Labanauskas by 6-1 in the semi-final, he went on to the final and won by the same numbers against Jani Laurila from Finland.
Marko Kantele then won the Nordic and Baltic Pro Tour 2 after a thrilling final against Johan Engström. The Finn got up by 4-1, before Engström managed to balance out the score to 4-4. Marko Kantele however proved to strong in the end and won the final by 6-4.
The three European Qualifiers were won by three different players, as Andreas Harrysson won the qualifier for the Belgian Darts Open, Viktor Tingström won the qualifier for the German Darts Grand Prix and Cor Dekker won the qualifier for the International Darts Open, meaning the Norwegian will be on the European Tour for the first time since 2019.
Our next Pro Tour weekend will be in Sweden in April, and the registrations are already open.
