The third day of the World Matchplay

We are ready for the third day and another couple of stars will enter the tournament.

Yesterday we saw eight matches. The matches did not bring us the big surprises, the biggest surprise was Joe Cullen’s big win against Gerwin Price.

In addition, Darren Webster, Ian White, Daryl Gurney, Mensur Suljovic, Gary Anderson, Rob Cross and Raymond van Barneveld won their respective matches.

However, Daryl Gurney had to fight more for it than the others, he won by 12-10 in a match in which Steve West missed no less than eleven match-darts.

Today, it is time for the last four matches of the first round. It starts with Kim Huybrechts against John Henderson. Then Simon Whitlock enters the tournament. He will meet Richard North.

The third match of the evening stands between the former winner and current number 10 on the world rankings James Wade. The Englishman meets Jermaine Wattimena.

The evening ends with a party when Peter Wright goes to the stage to meet Jelle Klaasen.

Both James Wade and Peter Wright must be considered favorites for the title, now that Michael van Gerwen is already eliminated. But of course, they have to win tonight at first.
